We the leaders of the Somali regional Peace and development Forum support and warmly welcome the amnesty granted by the Somali regional state authority to release number of inmates from the jails in Jigjiga, Kabridahar, Dagahbur and warder.
First, this decision is an indicative of the need to win the hearts and minds of the regions citizens on the part of region’s authority and it is without a shadow of a doubt a step to the right direction.
Secondly, the region’s communities in the Diaspora must draw a comfort from this decision as it was a hotly debated issue whilst conferring with the recent high delegation visit to Stockholm and London by the leaders of the region’s government.
Lastly we call upon all the region’s communities in Diaspora to unite their voices and effort to work towards a sustainable peace and development in the region.
Our motto remains one: Life needs peace, peace is development and development is the essence of Life.
